The Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum, Waseda University<\/h2>\n

With the aid of supporters from a range of fields, The Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum, Waseda University, familiarly known as “Enpaku”, was founded in October 1928 to commemorate the 70th birthday of Professor Tsubouchi Shoyo and the completion by him of the translation into Japanese of all 40 volumes of the “Complete Works of Shakespeare”, a task to which the Professor had devoted half his life. Since then, as Asia’s only museum dedicated solely to the theatre, Enpaku has been engaged in collecting works relating to the theatre and motion pictures both in Japan and all around the world. Its extensive collection of over one million works that has been amassed over 90 years may be termed as “the history of theatre” itself. Meanwhile it also contributes to researchers from a wide range of fields, extending from the theatre and motion pictures to other areas such as literature, history, clothing and construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Aizu Museum<\/h2>\n

The Aizu Museum houses a vast collection of materials that have been accumulated since the founding of Waseda University. The museum celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018, and after a complete renovation, reopened in April 2019 with a new Grand Gallery (permanent and special exhibition rooms), Modern Art Exhibition Room, and Aizu Yaichi Memorial Collection Exhibition Room.
\nThe museum presents and exhibits a large number of materials, including about two special exhibitions per year. The museum was originally built in 1925 as a library and is now designated as a “Tokyo Metropolitan Government Historical Building”. Waseda University History Museum<\/h2>\n

The Waseda University History Museum conducts research activities to clarify the history of Waseda University and the achievements of its founder, Shigenobu Okuma, and the people who contributed to the university, and to pass them on to future generations.
\nThe Museum exhibits not only on Waseda University\u2019s history, but also on current and future education and research, disseminating the individuality and significance of the university since its founding. There are facilities such as a reference room on the Higashifushimi Campus and an exhibition facility on the Waseda Campus.
\n*The Waseda University History Museum opened as an exhibition facility in March 2018. The facility was merged with the Waseda University Archives in April 2022.<\/p>\n

Honjo Waseda-no-Mori Museum<\/h2>\n

The Honjo Waseda-no-Mori Museum is a facility for the joint display of materials held by Honjo City and Waseda University in Saitama Prefecture.
\nThe museum aims to be a hub for local culture, utilizing the rich collection of materials held by both the city and the university, as well as providing a global perspective on the history of the region and the appeal of Waseda University and Honjo.
\nThe exhibition rooms are divided into two areas. In the Honjo City Exhibition Room, visitors can see many cultural assets that tell the story of the city’s history up to the present day, including archaeological materials such as a wide variety of haniwa (clay figures) and chronological tables. In the Waseda University Exhibition Hall, you can see the Oceania Ethnographic Artifacts and valuable cultural assets owned by the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The Waseda International House of Literature (The Haruki Murakami Library)<\/h2>\n

The Waseda University International House of Literature is a cultural exchange facility and center for literary research located on the Waseda campus. Commonly referred to as the \u201cHaruki Murakami Library,\u201d this facility houses valuable materials deposited and donated by Haruki Murakami,\u00a0<\/span>an alumnus<\/span>\u00a0of the university. These include interviews, reviews of his works, first editions of his books, a vast collection of translations of his works in over 50 languages, as well as records and CDs that he collected.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nIn addition to the research collection stacks, the library facilities open to the public include a gallery lounge, an audio room, an exhibition room, and a caf\u00e9 run by students.
