In 1912, Prof. Charles William Eliot, the former president of Harvard University, visited Waseda University and praised the effort of Waseda University\u2019s correspondence course as the same tackling as the Harvard University with other Boston-area Universities setting up University Extension to extend its academic resources to the general public.<br \/>\nIn 1981, launched \u201cExtension Center\u201d, Waseda has long cherished the memory of Prof. Charles William Eliot and in honor of his praise, we named our life-long learning institution as \u201cExtension Center\u201d, and the courses as \u201cOpen College\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>We offer a variety of courses from Liberal Arts to Practical Training Program both in- person at the classroom and Online classes.
