Features of WAVOC<\/h2>\n

WAVOC was established in 2002 to promote social contribution at Waseda University. WAVOC provides opportunities for hands-on learning through the \u201cSocial Contribution and Volunteer-Related Courses\u201d (established by the Global Education Center), the \u201cWaseda Volunteer Project,\u201d in which students take the initiative under the guidance of WAVOC faculty members and their expertise, and \u201cEvents and Open House\u201d to promote awareness of social issues. WAVOC also holds events, open lectures, and study tours to raise awareness of social issues.<\/p>\n

In addition, Waseda University has been continuously engaged in reconstruction support activities, such as dispatching large numbers of student volunteers to disaster-stricken areas affected by natural disasters in recent years. More than 200,000 people have participated in social contribution and volunteer activities through WAVOC to date. Students who have participated in WAVOC have grown significantly through hands-on practice, collaborative work, and exposure to diverse values through on-site activities as well as pre- and post-activity learning. We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested, please feel free to visit our office. Student staff leaders will be happy to assist you.<\/p>\n
